This statement was made pursuant to section 54 (1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (The Act) it covers the calendar year 2022, its purpose is to inform and guide First Light and its members as well as third-party associations in the prevention of modern slavery and human trafficking/exploitation of others in business, along with our associated supply chains.
 
First Light Independent Care ltd. was established as a introductory live in care agency, whereby we source and supply the provisions of the best health and social care professionals in the industry from both local and abroad to our service users. Our purpose is to make a positive impact in the service users lives and with the wider professionals/carers we are engaged with, we believe to achieve this, everyone must be valued, treated with respect and with freedom of choice without duress in any capacity.
 
Operations
 
We operate responsibly and run our company through a fair and ethical manner, whereby all our engagements and decisions with our wider network of professionals are treated as part of our family despite being self-employed, whereby the national minimum wage as of April 2022 will become £9.50/hour does not apply to these category of workers, however we ensure we pay within and often or above these parameters to maintain a competitive edge with other suppliers, and because it is simply the moral thing to do.
 
We believe through treating people with respect, dignity and integrity will pave way to long lasting positive and sustainable professional relationships, which in turn will translate to the work-ethics and quality of the services that are being collectively delivered and experienced by the end – service user.
 
These collective decisions on all levels of the company were motivated by our main priority, to deliver a premium and first-class service, where we are recognised for quality and value. This is truly where we have put the needs of our service users first ahead of the financial incentives, thus, to ensure continuity is achieved with the carers and wider network of professionals, which we recognise is paramount in this field of practice.
